PRIVATE VEHICLES
The vehicle described in the Policy Schedule
including station wagons, double cab LCV,SUV,
motorcycles and the like or similar vehicles
designed to seat not more than 9 persons
including the driver.
1) Own Damage Excess Reducer
This cover reduces the client’s accidental
damage excess on his comprehensive insurance
policy. Own Damage Excess Reducer provides the
client with a variety of fixed and variable
inner excess options. The client can still
submit a claim if the claim amount is within the
underlying insurance company excess.
2) Total Loss Excess Reducer – Including
Theft/Hijack
This cover is in the event that the insured
vehicle is stolen or hijacked or written off as
a total loss by the underlying insurer. This
reduces the theft/hijack excess on a vehicle.
3) Credit Shortfall
Credit shortfall insurance settles any shortfall
owed to the Financier under a current instalment
sale or lease agreement. A legally enforceable
Credit Agreement as defined in the the National
Credit Act 34 of 2005 as amended, entered into
by The Insured with the Finance Company in
respect of the Insured vehicle and specified in
the Policy Schedule. This will occur if your
vehicle is stolen or written off, less any
arrears instalments or interest payable on
arrears, refunds of premium for cancellation of
any insurance and first amount payable. Residual
payments due under the final instalment and any
re-financed payments will not be covered.
4) Deposit Protector
Where the underlying Comprehensive Motor Insurer
regards the insured vehicle uneconomical to
repair and writes the vehicle off , or the
insured vehicle is stolen or hijacked and are
not recovered , the deposit you are required to
pay to acquire your new vehicle may often be out
of reach. With Deposit Protector, you can ensure
that if you find yourself in the unfortunate
situation of losing your vehicle as a result of
the abovementioned occurrences, replacing your
vehicle will be that much easier. This is
limited to the actual deposit paid and the
insured vehicle must be subject to an
outstanding finance agreement.
5) Topglass
This cover will only indemnify the insured
following loss or damage to window or glass only
on your specified insured vehicle which is
comprehensively insured on an underlying policy
and not the excess reducer. The policy will not
respond for loss or damage to any vehicle
lights, mirrors or for any extras, should any
other damage occur then the policy will not
respond. No indemnity exists for loss or damage
to any vehicle lights or mirrors or for any
extra’s, window safety, tint or signage.
